Six Year 12 students from our Prefect and Head Boy /Head Girl team were invited to St Johns Wood Synagogue for the Naz Legacy Foundation’s London Youth Interfaith Iftar. This is an annual event that brings together young people from across all of the London boroughs, from all faiths.
The students heard from highly venerated guest speakers, including Chief Rabbi Mervis, Cardinal Nichols, Bishop of London, Sarah Mullally, and the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. One of the highlights of the event was working alongside other young people to develop projects to improve interfaith relations within London, and being able to present these ideas to the guest speakers.
The event was a truly engaging and enlightening experience allowing the students to interact with members of other faiths and to celebrate London’s rich diversity. We were even treated to an impressive meal and joined in the famous ‘selfie’.
