Extended School Day
Our commitment to giving students time to experience the maximum of what JFS has to offer includes our Extended Services programme. Twice a week students have the opportunity to enjoy an extra two hours at school taking part in sporting activities, developing their photographic skills, learning a foreign language, furthering their Jewish knowledge through our enhanced Jewish Studies programme and joining in Glee Club. There is something on offer to suit the interests of every child.
The Extended Services programme runs between 4.00 pm and 5.30 pm on Monday and Wednesday afternoons offering a variety of activities for students. The scheme runs for 8 weeks each term and enables students to explore their own areas of interest. Several hundred students take part in our Extended Services programme and we look forward to the popularity continuing to grow.
Students can be collected by parents or make their own usual way home. To support the scheme the 688 and 683 buses depart JFS at 5.30 pm. Caterlink provide food for purchase, via the Smart Card system, which is available at the end of the school day.
Details of the different activities and the day of the week they will take place on appear below. Students may apply for activities for one or two days. If any student (or parent) would like any further information, they should contact Miss Quarrell who is co-ordinating the programme.
