Bar Sagi Young Poets Competition

Bar Sagi Young Poets Competition

The Bar Sagi Young Poets Prize competition commemorates a talented young Israeli poet, Bar Sagi, who unfortunately passed away at the age of fifteen. The competition was established by Bar’s family and is administered by the Voices Israel Group of Poets in English, a non-profit organisation bringing people together through poetry. The 2021 competition is open to Israeli school students, and this year it was also open to students of any denomination from schools outside of Israel.

Year 7 student, Mordechai Howie, has won an ‘honourable mention’ in the competition with his poem, Three, and will receive a mention in the Israeli press.

Well done Mordechai, we are proud of you!
