Higher Education, Apprenticeships and the World of Work
A LEVEL RESULTS DAY – THURSDAY 18th AUGUST 2022
Clearing opens on Monday 5 July, so if any of you are still looking to apply, aren’t holding any offers, or have since changed your mind, you can now search and apply for courses through Clearing. As with every year, it’s also a good idea, if you are holding an offer, to get up to speed with Clearing and how it works to make sure you have a backup plan in place for results day and are prepared for all outcomes.
Clearing Plus: What you need to know
This year, applicants can find their perfect course without looking through all the courses with vacancies (there are literally thousands)… instead enter Clearing Plus.

What to do in different circumstances, depending on your exam results.
UCAS Adjustment – is no longer available from 2022, but students who wish to change universities at confirmation can use ‘Decline my place’ to enter clearing and, if they use Clearing Plus, they will be signposted to relevant universities with spaces whose entry requirements match the student’s results.

Outstanding access to Higher Education
95% of our Year 13 students proceed to Higher Education, either directly from JFS or after a Gap Year. This exceptional record of progression to Higher Education reflects the calibre of our staff and our students. JFS has considerable specialist knowledge and vast experience to guide students into Higher Education. We use, to the full, our close links with universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, as well as in particular, Bristol, Leeds, Birmingham and Nottingham, supported by the invaluable experience of the many JFS Alumni at these universities who come back to help current students and also show them around their campuses on visits to universities.
Key features of our Higher Education guidance programme are:
‘Model’ Interviews Seminar led by university admission tutors
Organised visits to selected university Open Days
Specific preparation for Oxbridge and Medicine candidates
Personal interviews for all students with an independent Higher Education Consultant
Seminars on the UCAS applications process, University life and Finance
Preparing for Jewish life on Campus
Work Experience Programme for all Year 12 students
Masterclasses in a wide range of subjects
Higher Level Apprenticeships and the World of Work
Students are supported throughout all application processes and our independent Careers Advisers are available to advise all students, whatever their chosen path.
