Some parents may remember that two years ago the MFL department raised just over £560 through the parent body to send old French text books to Africa.

Books 2 Africa is a UK charity that collects and sends donated books to increase the quality of education in Africa by helping individuals and communities to access, read, and understand books and to extend the life and impact of books by decreasing book waste and increasing book ‘readcycling’.

We have finally finished packing up 80 boxes of French books which were sent to the Books 2 Africa head office last week. We are so fortunate to have up-to-date text books at JFS and we hope that our ‘old’ text books are useful to the many students across Africa who will receive our books.
