Last Friday we hosted our well anticipated annual Brent Holocaust Memorial Day Seminar. Students from Alperton Community School, Newman Catholic College, St Gregory’s School, Kingsbury High School, Queens Park Community School, The Crest Academy joined together with some Year 10 students from to learn about the Holocaust and subsequent genocides. Students were privileged to hear from Auschwitz survivor Renee Salt who eloquently shared her story of survival and gave the audience much food for thought.

This was then followed by workshops whereby our visitors learned about the role of bystanders in the Holocaust and about the importance of standing up to all forms of discrimination. The seminar finished with a talk on Holocaust denial in its various guises.
