As part of their course, a group of BTEC Business students organised a student and staff talent show last week, show-casing a large selection of talents. We had a range of music written and performed by members of staff, students singing beautifully to backing tracks or accompanying piano, stand-up comedy and dance.
The atmosphere was electric as the audience of students and staff roared with excitement, one performance after another, amazed at the level of talent being demonstrated.
The success of the event is measured against objectives set by the students running the event, focusing on good ticket sales (with money going to charity), quality acts and enjoyment for those watching. All these targets were exceeded, being a huge encouragement to the team who organised it.
Another group of Business students organised a lunchtime fitness training event for fellow students in Years 7 – 9. This event was designed to be small, and encourage a healthy lifestyle as well as how to perform exercises at home to increase fitness. The funds raised from sales of tickets are also being donated to charity. Feedback from participants was very positive and they learned a lot in a short span of time.
