Match Report: Year 7/8 JFS Cricket vs Alperton School (Brent Semi Final)

The Year 7/8 JFS cricket team continued their dominant run with an exciting victory against Alperton School in the Brent Semi Final last week. Batting first, JFS posted a solid total of 96 runs in the shorter 12-over innings. Key contributions came from Taylor Lewis (18), Jake Schapkaitz (18), and Liam Ketz (17), but the standout performance with the bat was once again from Gabriel Bohm, who scored a stellar 35 runs.

With the ball in hand, JFS demonstrated why they are considered the dominant cricketing force in the district. Gabriel Schapkaitz took two vital wickets, disrupting Alperton’s momentum after their opener, who looked set for a big score, edged behind to Gabriel Bohm off a brilliant delivery from Jake. The number two batsman, dropped earlier, was eventually bowled out by a perfectly delivered in-swinger from Jake, quelling the panic that had briefly set in.

Brilliant fielding all around typified the team performance, with Zac Lissner ending up with the match ball after bagging four wickets, leading the team in wickets taken for the second time this season. The disciplined bowling attack restricted Alperton to a modest score, securing JFS’s spot in the final.

The team now awaits to find out whether they will face Kingsbury or QPCS in the final. One thing is certain: this JFS cricket team is a force to be reckoned with. Well done, boys!
