Year 10 students studying GCSE Astronomy with Mr Davey were given the exciting opportunity to virtually control the famous Faulkes Telescope in Australia for 30 minutes.
With an impressive aperture size of two metres making it one of the largest robotic telescopes in the world, it certainly was a privilege to have exclusive access to it. Using the telescope, the class managed to make unique astronomical observations of celestial bodies not visible to the naked eye. Although the images required processing afterwards, some students volunteered to learn to do this, and the results have been very successful.
