We are delighted with the outstanding GCSE results attained by all JFS students across the board this year. 92% of students at JFS achieved five or more standard GCSE passes including English and Maths, 80% of which were grade 5 or above. With 46% of students achieving 9 to 7 grades and 28% of grades at 8 or 9 (A*) this cements JFS’s place as not only a top school in the community but across the country.
Headteacher Rachel Fink commented: “Today’s outstanding results are the culmination of the collective hard work or our students and staff together with support from home. I am deeply proud of all our students who have shown such commitment to their studies as a step towards their future goals. In keeping with our drive to promote positive wellbeing we have chosen not to name individual students for praise. We have many students who have attained a clean sweep of top grades, many who have made remarkable progress in terms of their value added grades and others who have
succeeded despite personal challenges that impacted on them over the past two years.
With a cohort of 300 students it is easy to overlook someone and there are many different ways to determine the ‘cut off’ point as to what constitutes exceptional results. The focus is on collective celebration as a school and an eye to the future to ensure that every student continues their education on a path that suits their interests, talents and abilities.”
