Year 11 student, Jonah Marks, competed at the World Duathlon Championships this weekend in Spain.
He was the youngest competitor and performed very well, considering he caught Covid at the start of Half Term!
Jonah ran a personal best for the 1st 5km and got into a good group for the 20km bike (Sprint Du/Tri is draft-legal again). Unfortunately, a Spanish athlete cut across him on a sharp bend and he had to brake suddenly and lost the group. This meant he had to put in a big effort to catch the pack and managed to get some muscle cramp which slowed him down a bit. However, he hung on for the last 2.5km run and finished 7th in the World in the U20 category – the 2nd fastest U20 Brit!
We continue to follow your progress Jonah and are proud of you!
