Last week we held our first annual Awards Ceremony for Years 7-10. This new format replaced the old Awards Ceremonies that took place over a four day period. The afternoon included speeches by Mrs Fink, our Headteacher and our guest speaker Laura Marks, the Founder and Chair of Mitzvah Day. Also present as our VIP guests were Andrew Moss, Acting Chair of Governors and Rabbi Daniel Epstein, Governor.
There are few occasions during the year where our students are able to showcase their amazing talents and this was one of them. It was a perfect opportunity to display the plethora of student photography and artwork that they have worked so hard on over their years at JFS. Our taste buds were treated to a wonderful array of baked goodies showcasing the culinary skills of our Food Technology students who supplied the refreshments alongside a generous donation of pastries from Bonjour bakery. The special five tiered cake was made by Keshet Lopian of Year 9 during lesson time as well as her own time, including a weekend.
There were also solo musical performances by Jake Gilbert on the guitar and Shimon Hurst on the Cello.
