Drama Students in Years 12 and 13 went to see a production of ‘The American Clock’ by Arthur Miller at The Old Vic Theatre. The trip was to support the A Level Drama Curriculum and to further experience Theatre. It was a production with added song and dance with a band throughout. Our Drama students attending theatrical productions is not unusual in itself but this time one of our esteemed JFS Alumni was playing a major role in the production. Greg Bernstein (see photo above) has worked more or less full time since graduating from the Guildford School of Musical Theatre and we were extremely proud to see him perform in such a prestigious play.
Everyone agreed that it was a fabulous evening. One student, Hannah Gottlieb said, “Arthur Miller’s play has been interpreted in a most interesting way, incorporating many Brechtian elements. The acting was superb and showed such versatility and multi rolling. Greg was particularly impressive and I hope to follow on as one of the JFS performing Alumni after I have completed my degree at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.” Actually Hannah did not just gain a prestigious place but won a scholarship as well!
For Mrs Sloane, Miss Whitfield and Ms Cass, it was yet another lovely evening with our terrific students.
