Rimon and JFS Joint Learning Programme

Rimon and JFS Joint Learning Programme

JFS was delighted to host 25 Year 5 students from Rimon Jewish Primary School, together with their teachers and some of the parents who kindly drove them to and from the school on Wednesday. Some JFS students were surprised to have their grandparents drop in on them as they were touring the school for the Grandparents’ Tour and Tea event.

Rimon students were able to sample a taste of JFS and the learning that takes place in Jewish Studies lessons through participating in an interactive session in the Synagogue. JFS students from 9ABJsIy1 paired up with the Rimon students to learn various Talmudic sources to resolve a Halachic dilemma about damage caused by a football kick that went diabolically wrong and ended up smashing a window.

Our students were a great example to the Rimon students, demonstrating their knowledge and textual analysis as they guided them through the sources, helping them reach a sound and logical conclusion. The session ended with a welcome treat of ice pops for the students and the Rimon staff thanking the school for a wonderful morning. It is hoped that similar events can take place in the future for other Jewish Primary schools.
