Special Collaboration

Our class of our Year 12 Politics students were lucky to meet and collaborate with a group of Israeli high school students to discuss their respective political systems.

Georgie and Sophia B from the class introduced the Israeli students to the UK political system, explaining about our voting system, main political parties and the role of the press. In return, JFS students heard about the Israeli government’s structure and how proportional representation affects the make-up of the Knesset. The presentations were then followed up with questions from both sets of students and included topics like the BBC, the war in Gaza, the role of the Royal family and how effective political parties are.

One student commented that on the whole it was a, “Fascinating and informative experience that we were all able to take a lot from.” All of the JFS students spoke afterwards about their hope to repeat the experience in the near future and we thank Khen and Yaniv at Makif YG – Yizthak Navon High School for all their hard work in making this opportunity possible.
