This week all GCSE and A Level Music students were treated to a personal meeting with American musical theatre lyricist and composer, Stephen Schwartz.  Mr Schwartz is a multi-award winning composer whose song ‘Defying Gravity’ is one the set works that students study for GCSE Music. We were all honoured and privileged that he was able to add us in to his busy schedule all the way in New York!

Students were adept in questioning Mr Schwartz thoroughly in their knowledge of ‘Defying Gravity’ and the musical ‘Wicked’, and he too, was both delightful and inspiring. Students relished having this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet one of their musical heroes.
