Last week the school celebrated the concept of ‘wellbeing’, with a full week of wellbeing talks and mental health related events.
A number of students attended a dog therapy session at lunch time. There was a screening of the Disney movie ‘Up’ for the lower school. We were joined by Gary Froy, a local teacher who spoke about overcoming his own mental health issues through his physical health, achieving a physically demanding challenge where he ran and cycled 172 kilometres over 5 days.
In addition there was dodge ball and expressive art therapy for students to get involved in at lunchtime and student and staff TED talks relating to the personal experiences they had with their own mental health and wellbeing.
To complete the week, the Sixth Form were joined by Dr Hadassa Fromson, a relationships advisor, who gave an in depth Q and A on interpersonal relationships.
