This week JFS hosted a visiting group of students from the Yachad School in Modiin, Israel, who were here in the UK for the Model UN Conference in Oxford.
Their visit to JFS, organised by Ms Wolfson, was to create a link between them and us (all Year 12 students) to gain an insight into each other’s lives. The Yachad students visited some lessons including Economics, Politics and History, and then spent some time together with our group of Year 12 students discussing how their lives were very different and yet so similar!
We are very proud of how our students presented themselves to the extent that the feedback from a group spokesman was, “We were really overwhelmed by the kindness and wonder of JFS. Instead of us talking about how much we love Israel and encouraging Aliya, we may have convinced a few of our students that they would rather be in school here!”
We hope that this will be the first of many visits and that their Model UN success will rub off on us!
